Duncan, Oliver L.
LORIS | Oliver Lee Duncan, 81, died Monday, June 16, 2003, at home after an illness.
He was born Aug. 10, 1921, in Loris, a son of the late Lee Roy Duncan and Cornelia Bocman Duncan. He was the widower of Clara Mae Boyd.
He was a medic in the Army during World War II, the service manager of Prince Chevrolet and Lay-Fisher Chevrolet-Olds for more than 45 years and also was chaplain for the Gideons and a member of the Loris First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Michael Duncan of Loris; a daughter, Susan Duncan Gerald and her husband, Eldred, of Little River; two brothers, Thomas Howard Duncan of Leland, N.C., and Franklin Doland Duncan of Wilmington, N.C.; three sisters, Emma Jane Duncan, Esther H. Duncan and Carolyn Duncan, all of Wilmington; and a grandson, Christopher Gerald of Little River.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hardwick Funeral Home in Loris.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Cemetery. The Rev. Drew Jackson and the Rev. Ronald Ward will officiate.
