DAVENPORT - Raymond A. Anderson, of Davenport, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Davenport Lutheran Home. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Grace Lutheran Church, Davenport. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church. Raymond was born March 19, 1905, in Davenport, to Andrew A. and Augusta M. (Johnson) Anderson. He married Clara Bergren on June 30, 1932, in Davenport. She preceded him in death on January 11, 1999. He was a finance manager for General Electric for 45 years, retiring in 1970. Raymond was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, having played the church organ for 40 years. He was a former council member and was very involved in other church activities, including TRI-L. He enjoyed gardening, collecting coins and framing pictures. Survivors include his daughters, Karolyn A. Britt, Davenport, and Merrillee Dae Anderson, North Augusta, S.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Rae and LaVerne Dohrmann, Davenport; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Jay and Barbara Anderson, Preston, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by his daughter, Judith Mendini; three sisters; and five brothers.
