Archibald Alexander, the Captain of the Sandy Creek expedition and the first sheriff of Rockbridge County, was born in County Down, Ireland in 1708, and there married his cousin, Margaret Parks. Their oldest daughter, Elizabeth was born in Ireland in 1735. Md Heraldic Families pg 64 " Archibald Alexander b 1708 County Down, Ireland his wife was Margaret Parks daughter of Joseph Parks of Donegal, Ireland his children were William, Joseph, John, James, Samuel and Archibald.

( BOQ) A daughter, Mrs. Joseph Parks, had a daughter, Margaret who married her first cousin, Archibald Alexander, b. February 4, 1708 as his first wife. Margaret married Joseph Parks, who occupied lands in County Donegal. Daughter Margaret. A son, William "remarkable for his corpulency" married and had four sons: Archibald, Peter, Robert and William.

Archibald, the eldest, was b. Cunningham Manor, County Donegal, February. 4 1708, and mr. December. 31 1734 his first cousin, Margaret Parks "a pious woman, of a spare frame, light hair and florid countenance.:" (Foote's Sketches.) He did Colonial service; Captain in the Sandy Creek Expedition. Eight Children. (EOQ)

Joseph Parks. He occupied lands in County Donegal, dau Margaret, and a son William (fat William) who had: Archibald, Peter, Robert and William. Archibald the eldest was born in Cunningham Manor County Donegal February. 4 1708 m. Margaret Parks his first cousin.

Carol Sanders " Margaret Parks died Jul 1755 Augusta County Virginia. Archibald married 2nd time to Margaret Jane Mcclure in 1757. One of their children was Archibald Jr.

House of Alexander pg 64 "Archibald Alexander, The brother of Robert Alexander I married there his cousin, Margaret Parks, Margaet (Parks). The wife of Captain Alexander died in 1753 at Borden's Grant in the Shenandoah Valley, on Timber Ridge.

The wife of Captain Alexander (Margaret Parks) died in 1753. At time of his wife's death, Archibald Alexander in company with John Huston, had gone to Pennsylvania to present a call to the Rev.
