A Time to Be Born:
Carl was born in Oviedo, Florida March 26,1935 to William and Bessie Bowers; both of whom preceded him in death. He was the fourth of 10 siblings; 6 of his siblings preceded him in death.
A Time to Grow:
Carl attended Seminole Country Public School and was a graduate of the historical Crooms High School in 1953.
After graduating , Carl entered Bethune Cookman University, formerly known as Bethune Cookman College in 1959, Carl Joined the United States Army where he served a full term in the Korean War.
A Time to Worship
Carl joined Grant Chapel AME, Oviedo,Florida (
The family church) and served faithfully there until 1999. He then moved his membership to New Jerusalem GUPCOG, under the leadership of Elder Barbara J. Gainey. During his membership of GUPCOG, Carl was ordained as deacon, an office most befitting for him and served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Deacon Bowers was a strong, DEDICATED, loyal, giving, respected, loving, and effective leader in his church.
A Time to Love:
Carl was a friend to everyone in his latter years, God blessed him was a special friend, Kathy Denard, who remained by his side,even up to death,Athough he never had andy biological children, God blessed Carl with a special gift that drew people to him, including James montgomery (Palmetto,Florida), who he thought of as a s son: and his Little Buddy" Brian Gainer,111(Tampa,Fl)they both had a special place in his heart.
