Mrs. Carrick died Monday in a Portland nursing home. She was 85.
Born in Michigan, she had lived most of her life in Portland and San Francisco. In 1922, she married the Rev. Lloyd R. Carrick, then the pastor of the now defunct Forbes Presbyterian Church in Portland's Albina district.
After six years with that church, the Carricks moved to San Francisco, where Mr. Carrick was pastor for 33 years until his retirement in 1961. In both churches, Mrs. Carrick was active in Christian education programs. From 1947 to 1954, she was a member of the Board of Christian Education of the national United Presbyterian Church.
After retiring, the Carricks returned to live in Southeast Portland.
Mrs. Carrick is survived by her husband; sons, Leonard W. Carrick of Redding, Calif., the Rev. Malcolm R. Carrick, a missionary in Japan, and Marshall L. Carrick of Palo Alto, Calif.; sister, Elinor Drury of San Leandro, Calif.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
