Loris.. Bessie Meeks Causey, age 95, entered into Eternal Rest Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Loris Extended Care Center following an illness.
Mrs. Causey was born February 6, 1916 in Horry County a daughter of the late Jake and Joanna Johnson Meeks. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Causey was devoted to her church and family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Johnnie Causey, three sons, Joseph, Lonnie, and Clinton Causey, two brothers, Jack and Hubert Meeks, and three sisters, Cora, Grace, and Ruby.
She is survived by one son, Lloyd Dale Causey of Loris, four daughters, Louise Hughes and Frances Duncan both of Loris, Pearline Brown Mills of Murrells Inlet, and Inez Todd of Conway, one brother, Sparkman Meeks of Currie, NC, twenty four grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 3, 2011 from 6 until 8 pm at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, June 4, 2011 from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Graham and Rev. Wendell Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
