Sara Gibbs, 71, of Rushville, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 in Indianapolis. She was born on September 14, 1941 in Fayette County to John Henry & Mary Pauline (Gabbard) Little.
Sara lived her early life in Rushville, graduating from Rushville High School in 1959. She married James A. Gibbs on December 5, 1959 and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2009. She spent many years in Franklin County before moving back to Rushville in 2008.
Sara worked at the old Danner's store in Rushville & at H. Allan Hawkins. She worked as a foreman at Schnadig Corp from 1971-1988 and retired from Pilkington in Shelbville in 2008, working there since 1991.
Sara is survived by her sons, Ronald D. Gibbs (& companion Arlene Sanchez) of Springfield, MA. and Donald G. (& wife Melissa) Gibbs of Rushville, sisters, Irene (& husband Cai) Rubin and Deloris Butts both of Wyoming, MI., grandchildren, Jessica, Rylee, Hayden & Aryanna and 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents & husband, Sara was preceded in death by brothers, Fred, Herman & James Little and a sister, Joyce Halberstadt.
Friends are welcome to visit from 4-8PM Tuesday, January 8 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville.
Graveside burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, January 9 at 11 AM.
