Born Feb. 15, 1912, in McSherrystown, he was the son of the late Frank S. and Rebecca Klunk Burkee.
He was the husband of Elizabeth M. Lutter Burkee.
He was retired from Martin Marietta in Middle River, Md., a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Hanover and he belonged to the Republican Club of Hanover.
Surviving are six sisters, Edith Burkee, Helen Smith Sarah Kane all of McSherrystown; Emma Hemler of Hanover; Genevieve Topper of Meriden Conn.; and Gertrude Krumrine of Westminster, Md.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, meeting at the Hick's Funeral Home, McSherrystown at 9:30 a.m. followed bu a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Hanover. His pastor Monsignor Hubert J. McGuire will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Vincent's Catholic Cemetery.
