Eugene E. Burns, age 87, of Houghton Lake passed away at his home on January 1, 2013 with his family by his side.
Eugene was born on February 23, 1925 to Joseph & Laura (Overhalt) Burns. He moved to the Houghton Lake area in the 1960's. He was a residential builder for most of his life. He married Lillian Pauline Newburn on September 19, 1946 in Scottville, Michigan. Eugene enjoyed fishing.
Eugene is survived by Son; Bruce Burns of Lake City, Son; Tom Burns of Kentucky, Daughter; Brenda Helsel of Houghton Lake, Daughter; Jewel Draper of Traverse City, Daughter; Nancy Parker of Houghton Lake, Daughter; Tina Burns of North Carolina, Daughter; Pamela Reinke of Farmington Hills, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, Sister; Bernita Barraton, Sister; Maxine King, Sister; Irene Bryan, Sister; Delight Bailey, Brother; Lawrence Burns, Brother; Frank Burns, Brother; Raymond Burns. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Lillian Burns in 1999, Son; Paul Burns in 2012.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday January 11, 2013 at 2 PM at the Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church. Burial will take place in Roscommon Township Cemetery.
