"The LaFayette Sun" - September 8, 1909:

Marriage of Miss Annie Laurie Schuessler and Rev. Chas. Battle.

A quiet home marriage that will be of great interest to numbers of admiring friends, was that of Miss Annie Laurie Schuessler and Rev. Charles Battle, which was solemnized Thursday morning at eleven o'clock at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Ida Schuessler, only the members of the immediate families being present. The ceremony was spoken by Rev. E. Fulmer, pastor of LaFayette Methodist Church.
The bride, who is one of LaFayette's brightest and most popular young ladies, was very pretty, wearing a becoming dress of tan silk with trimming of Irish lace and hand embroidered dots of pale blue.
Rev. and Mrs. Battle left at three o'clock for a few days visit to New Orleans before going to their future home in Jennings, La., where Mr. Battle is pastor of the Methodist Church.
The many friends of Mrs. Battle regret to learn that her marriage carries her away from the town where she is universally loved for her many traits of true Christian womanhood, and her presence in both religious and social circles will be greatly missed.
