Angela Marie Foster, age 34 of Republic, Washington passed away at home in the loving care of her family and hospice, in the early morning hours of the first day of January 2013. Angie was born in Memphis, Texas on August 20, 1978 to Pat and Dewey Foster.

As a young child Angela captured everyone's heart with her grace, beauty and charming smile. She moved north with her family in 1980 and settled in Republic, one of the most beautiful and friendly little towns the family had ever seen. Angie's challenges in life arrived early in the difficult form the Rett Syndrome, which is a disorder of the nervous system that leads to developmental reversals in the areas of expressive language and hand use. Rett Syndrome occurs almost exclusively in girls affecting 1 out of 10,000 children and is often misdiagnosed as autism or cerebral palsy.

In spite of such a difficult challenge Angie still participated in the Special Olympics, enjoyed family outings and most of all the winter holidays. The charms of her smile never faded and while Angie's ability to travel lessened many of her friends and family visited often. Her spirit in the face of daily struggles inspired many. She was the jewel of her family and the joy of her mother's life. Angela Marie Foster will be sorely missed.

Angie is survived by her mother Pat, and brothers Brion, Doug, and John.

If you'd like to do something in remembrance of Angie, please practice random acts of kindess.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Republic Cemetery.
