Former Riverhead resident Diantha M. Foskey died Oct. 27 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Va. She was 47.
She was born in Riverhead June 4, 1963, to Ivory and Judith (Jackson) Jones and raised in Columbia, S.C., where she graduated from high school.
In August 1988, she married Arthur Foskey in Cutchogue, and the couple resided in Riverhead.
Ms. Foskey was a tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service, first in Riverhead and then for 11 years in Holtsville. A member of Galilee Church of God in Christ in Riverhead, she led the group’s missionary work. According to her family, the church was her passion.
Predeceased by her father, Ms. Foskey is survived by her husband, of Virginia; her mother, of South Carolina; her children, Terrance and Brittany, both of Virginia; and her siblings, Dennis Jones and Geraldine Ramos, both of South Carolina, and Barbara Griffin of Virginia.
The family received visitors Oct. 31 at Galilee Church of God in Christ, where funeral services were conducted Nov. 1 by the Rev. Roy Pennon. Interment followed at Riverhead Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead.
