Mrs. B. A. Rasmusson

Mrs. Laura Josephine Rasmusson (nee Bremsen) was born at Stavanger, Norway, May 8, 1869, and passed away at her home in Roland Friday, July 12, at 7 o'clock in the evening, at the age of 60 years, 2 months and 4 days.

She came to America in 1884, and a few weeks after she arrived, her parents also came and the family made their home at Rosendale, northwest of Story City. She was married to B. A. Rasmusson Sept. 5, 1899, and they then lived on the old Rasmus Rasmusson farm six and a half miles southeast of Roland until about a year and a half ago, when they moved to Roland, where they have since resided.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Rasmusson is survived by two adopted children, Lyda and Benford, one brother, Louis Bremsen of Otteson, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Evald Anderson of Duluth, Minn.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran congregation for the last 13
years and was an outstanding worker in the congregation, taking part in the various affairs of the church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o'clock at Salem church, Rev. Olaf Holen officiating. Music was' furnished by members of the Salem church choir, and Mrs. T. A. Sorem. The body was laid to rest in the Roland
cemetery.

Among those from a distance in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Sabo and son of Eagle Grove, Mr. and Mrs. John Sieberang and Mrs. Sieberling of MitchellvillL, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Lack of Des Moines, Mrs. Viola McCauley and Miss McCauley of Nebraska, Mrs. Evald Anderson and son Edwin of Duluth, Minn., Mrs. Louis Bremsen of Otteson, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Peterson and family of Ames, Mrs. Richard Rierson and son Earl of Kandiyohi, Minn., Tom Tungesvik of Detroit, Minn., and Rasmus Rasmussun of
Marshalltown.
