Daughter of Frederick Branning and Christena Bade. Her mother died in 1916 due to a brain tumor. Her mother's death followed the birth of an eight month old fetus. There was much fear that the mother would die before the baby was born. The premature baby. Estella's sister, lived for only two days.

ESTELLA F. "SALLY" BENNETT, 88, died Friday at Regency Place. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a bookkeeper at Slicks Laundry for 50 years. Surviving are three stepdaughters, Charlotte Edwards of Fort Wayne, Barbara Lee of New Haven and Norma Imbody of Marion; several step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Francis L., died in 1959; a daughter, Patricia C. Bennett, died in 1996.

Services at 2 p.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Calling two hours before services. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials to Grace St. John United Church of Christ.
