Annie Ruth Johnson Carrington
Annie J. Carrington, 86, of Shipman died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at UVA Medical Center. Born February 2, 1926, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth R. Johnson and Julia J. Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Carrington. Annie is survived by a son, Robert Hart and his wife ChongIm, a step-daughter, Althea Carrington; a sister, Sylvia Durham, four grandchildren, Sheri Hart, Shereen Hart, Robyn Austin, and Johnny Hart; 6 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; and her caregiver Angela Turner and her family. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joy Baptist Church Cemetery in Schuyler. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
