John Baptiste Berthiaume, 78, of 97 Hill St., Biddeford, died yesterday in a local hospital after a long illness. He was born April 20, 1887, in St. Julien, Canada, the son of Stanislas and Marie Perreault Berthiaume. He was employed in a local mill until his retirement. Berthiaume was a member of St. Andre's Church and of Council Chagnon, Union St. Jean Baptiste. Surviving are his widow, Marie Ann Leblanc Berthiaume, a son Robert, Biddeford; three daughters, Mrs. Florence Doyon, Saco, Mrs. Theresa Morin, Sanford, and Mrs. Muriel Hevey,
Chester. N.H.; one sister, Mrs. Delia Normand, Biddeford; two brothers, Henry, Saco, and Jeffrey, Biddeford, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Thursday from St. Andre's Church, Biddeford. Interment will be in the family lot in St Joseph's Cemetery, Biddeford. Friends may call at the Sansoucy Funeral Home. 1 Stone St.. Biddeford. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p. m., starting today.
TO PAY RESPECTS Members of Council Chagnon, Union St, Jean Baptiste, will assemble tonight at 7 at the club hall and proceed to the Sansoucy Funeral Home, 1 Stone St.. Biddeford, to pay respects to a member and former officer and caretaker, John B. Berthiaume.
