Age 71, of Corona, Entered Eternal Rest on Wednesday afternoon, following a terminal illness. Born in the Bronx, New York, Veronica was born fifth of thirteen children to Francis and Mary Kearns. She came to California 1960 and settled in the city of Baldwin Park in Los Angeles County. Veronica had worked in a clerical capacity for 33 years with the Santa Fe Railroad. Upon retiring from work in 2000, she moved to Corona, California and lived with her sister Denise and her brother in law, Wayne Stovall. She loved cooking and did so often for large family gatherings, and considered Thanksgiving her favorite holiday. Veronica enjoyed traveling back East to visit her family and also enjoyed taking cruises with her dear friend Rosalee. However, she will best be remembered as a devoted grand- mother who cherished the time she spent with her eight grandchildren; Kenneth II, Adam, Jordan, Tyler, Sabrina, Jaden and twins Mary & Leah. She is survived by her four children, daughter Laura Escarcega and sons, Joseph, Kenneth and Russell Avery, and siblings, Eileen Ziccardi, Raymond Kearns, Darlene Miller, Denise Stovall, Margaret Skogman and Barbara Strauss. She will forever be missed and in their hearts.

Interment will be at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in the H Section on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 1:00 pm.
