CLINTON - Karen Virginia Doty, 71, of Clinton, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Clinton Church of Christ. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Clinton Chapel-Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Karen V. Holton was born March 11, 1941, in Battlecreek, Neb., a daughter of William and Cleone (Lewis) Holton. She was a 1959 Clinton High School graduate, and attended Eastern Christian College, Bell Air, Md. Karen married Furman C. Doty on June 6, 1964, in Bell Air.

She was a homemaker and was an active member of the Clinton Church of Christ, where she had been a secretary and very active with Sunday school.

She is survived by her husband, Furman C. Doty of Clinton; son, Furman "Wade" Doty of Clinton; three grandchildren, Carley Doty, Virginia Doty and Manny Doty; sister, Gayleen (Gene) Beavers of Mount Pleasant, Mich.; and brother, William N. (Loetta) Holton of Fulton, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and her brother.
