Martha H. Knight, 82, of Albany, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at her home.
Her funeral service will be Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 3 PM at the graveside at Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 6-8 PM.
Mrs. Knight was born in Leesburg and moved to Albany in 1941. She was the daughter of the late James Hines Hammond and the late Mary Alice Laramore Hammond. She graduated from Albany High School in 1949 and retired from Civil Service at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Albany. Mrs. Knight was a member of Beattie Rd. Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward Lee Knight, and by 5 siblings.
Mrs. Knight is survived by her daughter: Debbie Oliver (Junior), Albany; 2 step-sons: Richard Keith Knight (Teri), Portland, OR, John David Knight (Sandy), Worth County, GA; 2 grandchildren: Amanda Dahn (Chris), Melissa Barksdale (Jeff); 4 step-grandchildren: Christy Ward (Jeremy), Cory Knight (Magahan), Chad Knight (Amanda), Ryan Knight (Lindsay); 3 great-grandchildren: Brianna Minnick, Haley Flournoy, Kenny Flournoy; 5 step-great grandchildren: Shelby Fender, William Knight, Aaron Knight, Benjamin Knight, Katie Barksdale; 1 step-great-great grandchild: Colton Fender; sister, Faye Griffin, Dawson and serveral nieces and nephews..
