Mary Etta Craig, daughter of Hiram and Anna Craig, was born March 29, 1862 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She passed away at the Blue Valley Lutheran Home June 14, 1952, age 90 years, 2 months, and 15 days.
She spent her childhood in Indiana and moved to Republic County, Kansas, when she was eighteen.
She was united in marriage to William J. Boyce in 1881 in Belleville. They lived in Kansas 14 years. to this union were born eight children, four sons, four daughters: Alberta, Hattie, Roy, Lloyd, Arthur, and Lucille. A daughter died infancy and and son Frank died in 1924.
Later, they moved to their farm north of Hubbell, where they lived until 1929. They then moved to Hebron. Mr. Boyce passed away October 23, 1931.
Mrs. Boyce spent the remaining part of her life with her children in and around Hebron. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Hubbell.
The six children are: Mrs. Alberta Opel, Panhandle, Texas; Mrs. Hattie Heimer, and Lloyd H. Boyce, Hebron; Roy H. Boyce Ontario, Oregon; Arthur D. Boyce, Hubbell and Mrs. Lucille Mumm, Karka, Kansas. Also, nineteen grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends mourn her passing.
