William Rual Pullin, 87, of Streetman, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in Fairfield. Mr. Pullin was born November 24, 1925 in Teague, Texas; to parents Rual Anthony and Josephine Bradley Pullin. He was a graduate of Fairfield High School and served in the U. S. Navy during WWII in 1944 and 45 aboard the submarine U.S.S. Jallao. While aboard the Jallao he saw action in the the Battle of Leyte Gulf in the Philippines. Mr. Pullin was a graduate of East Texas State University. He was a chemical engineer with Phillips Petroleum from 1950 to 1982. In 1949 he married Margaret Ann Stokes in Palestine and she preceded him in death in 1979. Mr. Pullin also served as a Freestone County Reserve Deputy under both Sheriff Sonny Sessions and Sheriff Ralph Billings. Left to cherish his memory is his son, William Bradley Pullin and wife Diane of Streetman; two grandchildren, Troy Alan Pullin of Oceanside, CA; Lisa Ann Wing and husband Brian of Corsicana; one great-grandchild, Austin Bradley Wing of Corsicana. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Email: [email protected]
