George Monroe Barringer was the third of five known children of Henry B. Barringer (1819-1903) and his first wife, Mariah Jane Brown Barringer (1823-1872), who married 12 Feb 1844 at Rowan County, North Carolina.
George married first to Margaret (went by Maggie) Melissa Kluttz (1844-1883) on 15 Feb 1872 at Rowan County, North Carolina. George and Maggie were the parents of three known children, namely:
1. Nina V. Barringer (1877-1967)
2. Ellen Mariah Barringer Eller (1879-1966)
3. Minnie Pearl Barringer Peacock (1882-1941)
After Maggie died, George remarried to Sarah Fisher (1846-1928)on 20 Dec 1883 at Rowan County, North Carolina. Geore and Sarah were the parents of three additional children, namely:
4. Mary Catherine Barringer (1884-1983)
5. John Henry Barringer (1886-1982)
6. Bachman F. Barringer (1890-1899)
