The Daily Record - Saturday, May 24, 1972: Wayne County has fatality of the year.
Goldie M. Cyrus, 62, was killed when the car in which she was riding was struck broadside, at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Two persons were injured in the accident; Mrs. Cyrus's husband, Charles, 59, reported in "satisfactory", condition in Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital; and Paul N. Hiteshew, 59, of Marshallville, treated and released.
According to the Wooster post of the highway patrol, the Cyrus car was eastbound, went through the intersection in the path of Hiteshew's auto and was hit broadside. The accident is under investigation.
Services Friday at the Gillman Funeral Home with Rev. Willis C. Pollard.
She was born Aug 29, 1910, at Walker's Branch, W. Va., and lived in Rittman-Wadsworth area for 20 years. She was a member of the Ridgewood Baptist Church, Wadsworth.
Surviving are her husband, Charles W; three sons, Wincel McKeen, Austin McKeen and Russell McKeen, daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Doris) Miller, sister, Mrs. Fern Howell and nine grandchildren.

The Daily Record - Saturday, May 27, 1972: Services were held Friday at Gillman Funeral Home for Mrs. Goldie M. Cyrus, who died Tuesday. Rev Willis Pollard officiated. Pallbearers were; Virgil Cyrus Jr., James Cyrus, Harold Pelfrey, Billy Edwards, Greg Maibach and Frederick Pratt.
