Coletta Willett, 82 of New Palestine, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at Community East Hospital of Indianapolis.

One of eight children, she was born June 6, 1930 in Connersville to Elisha and Dora Fowler Gabbard. On May 3, 1947, she married Norman Edward Willett in Connersville.

She lived in Fayette County for twenty-three years; later, they resided in Ambridge, Pennsylvania and Ft. Wayne, Indiana, before finally moving to Tucson, Arizona in 1973. Mr. Willett passed away on March 14, 1989 and, with her daughter, she returned to Indiana and chose New Palestine as her home in 1992.

A former member of First Baptist Church while living in Connersville, in New Palestine, she became a member of Burch Terrace Baptist Church; she was also a member of the Auxiliary of the Gideons.

She was a devoted, loving homemaker; in her leisure, she enjoyed reading, crocheting and taking care of her lawn.

Survivors include two children, Stephen F. Willett and his wife Linda of Spiceland, Indiana and Leanne M. Willett of New Palestine, Indiana, four grandchildren, Tim (Stacy) Willett, Angela (Mike) Hutchison and Jeff (Kim) Willett, all of Greenfield, Indiana, and Daniel Willett of Spiceland, Indiana, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Vola Elsrod of Richmond, Indiana and Olla Houghland of Connersville; she was also blessed with a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beside her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Vida Moore, Veron Newton and Nida Bills, and two brothers, Raymond Steele and Lester Maupin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, Rev. Todd Curtis, officiating; burial will be in Dale Cemetery – family and friends may call at the Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Friday; they may also visit anytime online at millermosterrobbins.com
