Theodore Miles Gribble attended Public School in Waco and graduated from Austin College at Sherman in 1914. He later served as Trustee of the College from 1931 to 1945.

He was employed by the First National Bank of Waco from 1914 to 1917, when he entered the U.S. Army. He served in France with the celebrated 36th Division, and was discharged in April 1919, a Lieutenant.

He served 2 years with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Houston Branch, then engaged in the manufacturing business for 2 years in Waco. In 1924 he entered the insurance business.

Brother Gribble was elected to the City Commission of Waco in 1940, and served as Mayor in 1941, the first native born Wacoan to be Mayor.

He was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church.
In 1942 he re-entered the armed forces as a Captain in the Adjutant General Department. He was relieved from active duty in October, 1945, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
