STOKESDALE — Jennifer Lucille Barrett, 59, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Wesley Long Community Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, at Comer's Chapel Baptist Church, with Pastor David Hill officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Abingdon, Virginia, Jennifer was born on July 2, 1951, the daughter of the late Robert F. and Vivian Clark Barrett. She was a loving mother and known for her care giving nature which she shared in caring for the elderly. She enjoyed reading the Bible and attending church, and in her spare time, writing poetry.

She was preceded in death by two brothers Johnny Barrett and Bobby Barrett. Surviving are a daughter Teresa Jordan of Stokesdale; son James 'JC' Jordan of Bennettsville, SC; two sisters Patricia White of Greensboro and Elizabeth Saunders of Madison; and a grandson Ryan Lanier.
