Aged 68y 1m 19d

OBIT:
At Providence, and conducted by the Rev. Benj. Plummer, on the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. the 26th, 1872, we attended the funeral services of James M. Boatman, Esq. of Logan, who died at his residence on Tuesday evening, after an illness of four days attended by Dr. S.C. Vincent. The members of the family were present, and deeply mourned the loss of an aged father and husband.

Mr. Boatman was born in Pennsylvania, in 1803, moving from there at the age of three years, with his parents, to Butler County, Ohio, where he resided untill 1833, where he came to Logan, of which place he has been a residence ever since, having been here thirty-nine years, raised a large and highly respected family, and died at the advanced age of sixty-nine.

The crowded condition of the house made manifest the kind regards felt by the public for his bereft family.

Truly it appears hard to be called upon to part with those near and dear to us; to have the bright links of lite broken, and kindred ties torn asunder, until with us time shall cease and eternity commence, but we console ourselves with the thought that though he has gone to that home from whence none are permitted to return; he is peacefully at rest, and free from rare and sorrow, "for the body shall return to the dust from whence it came, and the spirit of God who gave."
