Virginia Holland Helton, 75, of Barling, AR passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at her home. Ginger was born to Rev. Felix and Agnes Holland on February 19, 1937 in Sebastian County in a small community known as Maness now part of Fort Chaffee, AR.

She had a twin brother named Dale Holland.
She is preceded in death by her parents, twin brother, husband Sgt. James E. Helton (killed in Viet Nam) and Charles Nick Mings, her companion of 42 years.

Ginger loved sports. She played golf, racquetball, softball and bowled for 25 years. She was an avid reader and loved gardening in her yard and taking care of her numerous houseplants.
But her passion was dancing. She and Nick danced 2-3 times per week at the Eagles and other places with their many friends. She was a registered nurse and worked at Sparks for 8 years and worked for Pulmonary Specialists Dr. David Nichols and Dr. Don Herd and retired from Holt Krock Clinic after 20 years. She was a volunteer for RSVP for 14 years. She was past President of Holt Krock Clinic Retirees Association, a member of the Eagles Club for over 20 years, past Vice President of Little Creek Women's Golf Association and attended Barling United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Helton Richison and her husband Joe R. Richison, III of Pocola, OK, two grandchildren, Shelby Richison and Spenser Richison. She is also survived by Nick's children, Lisa and Jerry Ezell of Subiaco, Nicky and Julie Mings of Paris and Robin and Boyd Farmer of Alma, seven of his grandchildren, Terra and Keith Reames of Paris, Bianca and Greg Pfeifer of Paris, Nicole and Chris Shelton of Alma, Boyd and Kimber Farmer of Carbon City, Levi Farmer of Paris, Brook and Hailey Mings of Paris and five great grandchildren.

Ginger wishes to say to all her family and friends "Thanks For the Memories". She is to be cremated and her cremains to be placed with her husband at National Cemetery and with her companion, Nick, at Caulksville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Barling United Methodist Church, 308 Church Street in Barling on Friday, January 4, 2013, from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. There will be no service.
