Harry W Evans dies :Was in the Philippines fighting with the Tenth
Youngwood- Jan 18 Harry W Evans 58 years old died in the Westmoreland Hospital at Greensburg from pneumonia. He is survived by his widow and 2 children. Edna Evans at home and Elmer Evans in the United States Marines at Newport. He is also survived by a brother Frank Evans of Ruffsdale and one sister Minnie Ridenour of New Stanton. The funeral service will be held at the St. Lukes Lutheran Church and interment will be made in Tarrs cemetery. Mr.Evans was a member of Company L 100Pennsylvania Volunteer infantry and was with the regiment in the Phillipines Insurrection.He was a quartermaster of Clawson Post Veteran of Foreign wars Youngstown. The members of the post will be in charge of the funeral. Serving as his pallbearers will be his ____ comrades, Judge William I Dom, Coroner James S. Hatkins, H. J. ____, Dan Dunmire, James H. Cramer,and C. Carmichaels. Mr. Evans was employed as an Engineer by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, and had a wide acquaintance . He was a member of the Saint Lukes Lutheran Church, Youngwood, the Knights of Malta of Greensburg and Junior Order of American Mechanics of New Stanton, The B of L. E.and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Greensburg. Always prominent in foreign affairs he was a member of the Youngwood school board and the Youngwood ____ Company at the time of his death. Commandery Knights of Malta will hold a service at the Evans home this evening.
