Joshua was the son of Harvey Carman and Margaret Ellen Sharp. Brother to William, Allen Blue, HE Bud, Pricilla, Sarah, John and his twin Caleb. He married Caddy V. Rountree in 1911. To this union children were: Wayman, Ruby, James Leslie, and Ina Mae. Joshua died from TB, as did his son Wayman and Daughter Ina Mae. He was a farmer.
