Rose Belle Campbell, daughter of Martin and Emeline Cameron Campbell, was born in Montgomery Indiana, and when a few months old was taken by her parents to Tippecanoe County, same State. She was educated in the public schools and the State Normal School, and in young womanhood was a teacher in Lafayette. She married , July 22, 1891 Benjamin Ingersoll Harter. (see Harter IV). Since the death of Mr. Harter, in 1906, Mrs. Harter has continued the administration of his business interests, and is a member of the board of directors of the Chicago Coated Board Company, Albaugh Dover Company, Standard Laboratories, and Ravenswood Hospital. Mrs. Harter is a resident of Chicago.
