C.E. Sears of Caldwell Dies
Caldwell – Charley Edward Sears, of rural Caldwell, life long resident of this community, died Sunday at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Will Rutledge, in Caldwell, after a long illness. He was a farmer.
Born Aug. 19,1901, in Caldwell, he was the son of Elmer and Gertie Misner Sears. He was married May 7, 1925, to May Rutledge, at Foyil, Okla.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Opal Price, Olympia, Wash., Miss Helen Sears, Wichita and Mrs. Lewis Mayfield, Enid; one son, Everett Sears in the U.S. Navy stationed at Adak, Alaska; two brothers, George Sears, Caldwell, and Albert Sears, El Campo, Texas and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m. in the Schaeffer Chapel with the Rev. Preston Hollis, Assembly of God minister, officiating. Burial will be in Caldwell Cemetery.
