Enlisted 8/1/1861, Age 21, he was mustered into "C" Co. GA Phillips' Legion Infantry as a Private.
Captured in Maryland September 1862; Paroled at Keedysville, Md. 9/20/1862.

Date and cause of death unknown but very probable that he died of disease between March and August of 1863 since he is not listed on the Sept/Oct roll (next one after Jan/Feb roll), and does not appear on casualty lists for either Chancellorsville or Gettysburg.

A number of recruits from Cobb County were added during early 1862.
