Death Record.
Shoemaker – Rev. Daniel Shoemaker died suddenly Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. D. W. Kenker at Arden, N.Y. of heart trouble, aged 78 years. He had been troubled with heart trouble for a number of years but was able to be around and on Sunday morning after eating breakfast, became suddenly worse and died at the time stated.
Rev. Shoemaker was born at Swissdale and resided there nearly his entire life but a few years spent in this city and Arden, N.Y. He was a United Evangelical minister but retired a few years ago. He will be greatly missed and his many acts of kindness gained for him a host of friends.
Deceased is survived by the following children: Dr. J. Fred and Dr. William Shoemaker, St. Louis, Mo.; Bessie, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Claire Peck, Orange, N.J., Mrs. D. W. Wenker, Arden, N.Y., and James I., Swissdale, also one sister, Mrs. Sarah Rich of Avis.
The remains were brought to this city Tuesday afternoon on the Buffalo flyer and taken to the home of his son in Swissdale. Funeral services were conducted in the United Evangelical church at that place at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon by Rev. R. S. Daubert and Rev. A. F. Weaver. Interment in the Swissdale cemetery.
