JAMES ROLAND MURPHREE, JR., 80, of Germantown, TN., died December 22, 2012 after a long battle with lung cancer. Roland was a loving and devoted husband and father. Roland is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 55 yrs., sons James Roland Murphree III (Trey), and Michael Murphree, both of Germantown; daughters Joni Drew of Germantown, and Jill Simmons of Cordova. He is also survived by brother, Harry Murphree of Germantown, sisters Shirley Shea of Crestview, FL., and Betty Wink of Ft. Myers Beach, FL. Visitation is Thursday, January 3, 6-8p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Germantown. Funeral mass is Friday, January 4, 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
