Graveside services for Roy E. Briggs, 72, of the Woodward Nursing Center, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Little Chapel of the Roses at Resthaven cemetery in Oklahoma City. The Rev. Jess C. Jones officiated. Local arrangements were by Good Samaritan Funeral Home.

Roy E. Briggs was born March 21, 1907 in El Reno. He grew to manhood there and then resided in Oklahoma City until moving to Woodward seven years ago. He was a resident of the Woodward Nursing Center. Briggs died May 13 in the Woodward Memorial hospital.

He is survived by two daughters, Joann Sparks of Pinehurst, TX and Jeannie Martin of San Diego, Calif; one sister, Eva Linthicum of Oklahoma City; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Orville (Wilma) Shepherd of Woodward; seven grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
