- Minerva Eastman Doe was born in Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence county, N.Y., April 14, 1847. At eight years of age her mother died leaving a family of five, and Minerva was taken by her aunt and carefully taught the words of God. While a young lady she united with the Methodist church of Ogdensburg, and was an earnest worker. In the month of July. 1867, Mrs. Doe came to Wisconsin and July 7, 1867, was united in holy matrimony to Greenleaf Doe of Clifton, where she remained until her death. She was ever a faithful, loving wife and mother, and will forever be so remembered. During her short illness a friend asked her if she was getting discouraged. She said"No; I may get better, but, whenever the Savior calls me I am ready to go." She leaves a husband and six children who greatly mourn her departure.
The funeral took place at 2 p.m. on Sunday last, Rev. Geo. A. Cressy officiating.
