Betty Ruth Doty, 78, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at her residence at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. She was a former resident of Indianapolis, She was born on December 1, 1934 in Swords Creek, Virginia, the daughter of William John and Lacy (Compton) Richardson. Betty is survived by her two sons, Franklin D. (Valerie) Hess and William (Karen) Hess; grandchildren, Anthony (Michelle); Christopher; Kimberly (Bryan); Heather; Regina; Sheila (Dustin); Amanda and Samantha; twenty-five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Earl (Janice) Richardson; Nelson (Kathleen) Richardson; Fred (Connie) Richardson and two sisters, Marie (Marvin) Musick and Linda (Gene) Cook. She was preceded in passing by her parents, daughter, Luvenia Stafford; grandson, Robert Lee Stafford; brother, Roger Richardson and sister, Violet Dunn. She attended school in Virginia. Betty was a Homemaker. In her early years in Virginia, she cleaned homes. Years later, she was employed at Furrow's, Target and K-Mart in the Indianapolis area. She was a member of the Church by the side of the Road Baptist Church in Indianapolis. She was a member of the Lynhurst Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Indianapolis. Rev. Charles Stanley will conduct a service on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kresge Chapel at the Indiana Masonic Home, 690 S. State Street, Franklin, Indiana 46131. Friends may call on Thursday, January 3rd from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at 1:00 p.m. An Eastern Star Service will be held commencing at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. FLINN AND MAGUIRE FUNERAL HOME IS HANDLING ARRANGEMENTS.
