Jon Arthur Scott was born June 5, 1955, at Mitchell, to Morris and Ardith (Hosmer) Scott. He grew up and attended school at Fedora and graduated from Artesian High School in 1973. On October 12, 1974, he married Julie Hetland at Artesian. He farmed in the Fedora and Artesian area for a number of years and was Supervisor at Graphic Packaging in Mitchell. He was baptized in the Methodist Church. He was on the Artesian City Council and was a member of the Artesian Community Improvement Association. He was an active member of the Artesian Community, mowed for the city, and for many years a member of the Artesian Softball League.
Jon is survived by his wife, Julie, Artesian; his daughters, Amy and husband, Jon Button, Brookings and Jessica and husband, Nick Van Overschelde, West Fargo, ND; his grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Ben Button and Grayson VanOverschelde; sister, Sandy and husband, Jeff Anderson, Madison, brother Jay and wife, Paulette Scott, Bergen, MN; mother, Ardith Scott, Howard and mother-in-law, Arlis Hetland, Sioux Falls.
He was preceded in death by his father, Morris, son, David John and father-in-law, Robert Hetland.
