He was born January 18, 1948 , son of Mildred (Schneider) Dhein and the late Daniel Dhein.
Tom attended Kiel schools.
In 1971, Tom married Kay Strehlow of Suring. They were married until her death in 2008.
On October 29, 2011 he married Cheri Baackes of Oostburg, at Wilkes Lake.
He was an independent owner & operator of Double DD's Truck Line. He previously had been employed in sales for Dolly Madison, Tombstone Pizza, Archway Cookies and drove for Schneider Trucking. He also owned and operated The Gin Mill in Tisch Mills for many years.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Tom enjoyed hunting, gambling, golfing & was an avid football fan, He was a true gentleman, who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Cheri of Kiel, seven children: Kristine Dhein, Green Bay, Butch Dhein, Green Bay, Carrie (Kim VanLanen) Rovelli, Kiel, Kyle (Cindy Remiker) Strehlow, Mishicot, Patrick Dhein, West Allis, Danielle Dhein, Chilton, Nicole (Allen) Riesterer, Appleton and grandchildren; Nadine & Joelle Crowley, Cole Dhein, Ethan, Katelyn, Colton & Jackson Riesterer, Erin Dhein, Kiley & Leah VanLanen and great grandson, Adam Alloway Jr. He is further survived by his mother, Mildred Dhein of Kiel, brothers & sisters; Janice (Richard) Fogeltanz, Two Rivers, Nancy (Roger) Wriedt, Madison, Sandy Spradeau, Madison, Elizabeth Scharenbroch (Tom Stahl), New Holstein, Margie (Kevin) Jones, Sheboygan, John Dhein, Green Bay, Jim (Barb) Dhein, Kiel, brothers-in-law, Walt Akright, Arkansas, Brent Baackes, New Holstein, Bradley (Wendy) Baackes, Oostburg, and like a son, Nathan "Tex" Darkow, Kiel, Strehlow family brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and his faithful companion, his dog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay (Strehlow) Dhein, son, Todd Strehlow, granddaughter, Destiny Lynn Dhein, brother, Dan Dhein Jr., sister, Carol Akright and brother-in-law, Mike Scharenbroch.
The funeral Mass for Tom will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 413 Fremont St., Kiel with Rev. Loren Nys S.D.S. officiating.
