Janet Eloise Abbott, 70, of Crocheron passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Crocheron on August 14, 1942 and was a daughter of the late George W. and Pearl Todd Murphy.

Mrs. Abbott attended schools in Bethany and in Crapo. She worked with Caldwell Casting, Meredith and Meredith Seafood and Dorchester Crab Company. On May 1, 1982, she married Douglas W. Abbott. She loved raising the children in the Crocheron area and enjoyed fishing. Mrs. Abbott attended Bethany United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband Douglas W. Abbott of Crocheron, two sisters Amanda Lee Holotik of Crocheron, Becky Bradshaw of Cambridge, two brothers Conrad Murphy of Cambridge and George L. Murphy and wife Mary Virginia Murphy of Crocheron and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Abbott is preceded in death by two sisters Betty Jean Murphy and Bernice Meredith and two brothers Otis Murphy and O'Neil Murphy.

Pallbearers will Thomas Holotik, Johnny Holotik, Buddy Obender, Ricky Bradshaw, Tommy Todd and William Fairall.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 1p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Jack Diehl officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made in Eloise's name to the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.
