Dennis L. Brown age 54, of Rushville, passed away Dec. 31, 2012.

"Duck" was born Apr. 23, 1958 in Rushville the son of Charles F. Brown & Patricia L. (Land) Fields. He married Jamey K. (Rankin) Brown June 21, 1997 and she survives. He graduated from Rushville Consolidated High School, Class of 1976 and lived in the Rushville community all his life. He was employed at Arrow Gas in Rushville for many years and served the needs of many in this and surrounding communities.

Dennis was a long-time member of the Rushville Elks Lodge 1307, where he served as Exalted Ruler for four years, Trustee for 3 years, and Chairman for the "Elks vs. Cancer" golf tournament over the past six years. He also served and volunteered on several committees, including the annual Clothe-A-Child program, and Veterans' Service programs. He was an associate member of the Knights of Columbus, and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Jamey Brown; mother Patricia (David) Fields; two step sons Jeremy (Tonya) Hampton & Richard (Melissa) Hampton II; one sister Kim (Steven) Keith all of Rushville; one brother David (Vanessa) Brown of Virginia Beach, VA; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three nieces, one nephew, three great nieces & two great nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles in 2007.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM Friday Jan. 4th at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory with Pastor George Huff officiating. An Elks Memorial Service will be held at 10:45 AM. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service. Friends will be welcomed at the Rushville Elks afterwards for gathering, reminiscing, and dinner.
