Thomas Giles Amos, 82 of Scruggs, passed away December 30, 2012. He was born December 17, 1930 and was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Eliza Amos, brother, Wayne, sister, Mary Brown. Thomas is survived by his wife, Barbara Woodford Amos; seven children, Bobby Amos (Patty), Donnie Amos (Genie), Ronnie Amos (Wanda), Jerry Amos, Denise Metts (Steve), Jimmy Amos (Ashley), and Dana Shelburne (Skip): 14 grandchildren; sisters, Lottie Clarke, Barbara Cannaday and Gail Melton. He was a tobacco and dairy farmer, volunteer fire fighter, school bus driver. He was a member of Mount Ivy Christian Church. He was the owner and operator of AA&W Plumbing and Electrical and managed his family's Smith Mountain Lake campground. Burial will be at Franklin Memorial Park.
