Funeral services for David Wayne Sharp, 61, of Hudson will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Murrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery.
Mr. Sharp was born April 12, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas to Wilburn David and Ruthie Lenora (Pitts) Sharp, and died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at his residence. He was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and retired from Texas Foundries following 36 years of employment. Mr. Sharp received an HVAC degree from Angelina College. He attended the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Barbara S. Sharp of Hudson; sons and daughters-in-law, Dallas and Micah Sharp of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Bryan and Tanjela Finch of Central, David Ray and Christi Yarbrough of Hudson, and Calvin Wayne Sharp of Hudson; daughters and son-in-law, Tammy Sharp of Lufkin and Valerie and Chad Butcher of Spring; granddaughters, Marley Sharp of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Taylor Finch, Taryn Finch, both of Central, Madyson Butcher and Haylee Butcher, both of Spring; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Brenda Sharp of Hudson; sister, Doris Beauchamp of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Trey Burton, John Beauchamp, Kyle Beauchamp, James "Bo" Hollingsworth, Glenn Miller and Jon Welch. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Stringer, Sammy Lovejoy, David Allen, James Milstead, Sherman Havard, Ty Willis, Reagan Kelsey and Speedy Morris.
