Mr. Chandler was born in Clarendon County on September 3rd, 1928. He was a son of the late Roland Mallory Chandler and the late Lorena Mercer Chandler and was the husband of Mrs. Florrie Broach Chandler.
Mr. Chandler was educated through the schools of the Hebron community, graduated from Hebron High School, and attended Clemson A & M College. He proudly served his country during World War II in Pacific Theater with the 7th Calvary in the occupation of Japan. Once back home after the war, Mr. Chandler tilled the lands of his family's farm his whole life, planting and growing tobacco and row crops, and worked for several years with the Rain and Hail Insurance Agency as an insurance adjuster.
Mr. Chandler was a skilled golfer, and enjoyed hitting the links in his free time. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and found great pleasure in spending time with his family at dinners and family barbeques. Mr. Chandler was a loving, hard-working, and faithful husband, father, grandfather, patriot, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him
Mr. Chandler is preceded in death by his two brothers, Ryan Chandler and Ralph Chandler; and his three sisters, Iva Pritchard, Millie Hall, and Dorothy Knight.
