Memorial services are scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at noon in the Plummer Funeral Home, Litchfield. Pastor Mike Bates will officiate, and private family interment will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery, Litchfield. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at Plummer's.
Mr. Blevins was born on Aug. 9, 1953, in Litchfield to Ora H. and Mildred E. "Betty" (Roberson) Blevins.
A 1971 graduate of Litchfield High School, he was an assistant manager at Capri IGA, Litchfield, for 23 years and a warehouse manager at Sarco Hydraulics for 13 years. A veteran of the Illinois National Guard, he was a member of Litchfield Moose Lodge 1634. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and was a widely-known breeder of Labrador retrievers.
He and Lillie M. Simmons were married on April 16, 1976, in the Barnett Christian Church, and she survives. Also surviving are one son, Justin (wife Ashley) Blevins of Litchfield; and one granddaughter, Macey Kay Blevins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mark Blevins.
The family suggests memorials be directed to the Litchfield Veterans' Memorial Garden Fund, the Adopt-A-Pet Shelter of Benld, or the Washington University Barnes Jewish Dialysis Center.
