Death claimed an old Marion resident last Thursday, when Mrs. Mary Colbert died at her home on South 6th street. Mrs. Colbert was born in Ireland in 1828, and has lived in this country about 55 years. She was married many years ago to Dennis Colbert at Iowa City and he has long since passed to his reward, as has also the one daughter, Katie, who was born to their union. Mrs. Colbert was ill about five weeks preceeding her death, although her health has not been good for nearly a year. She has lived alone in her home for a number of years. Two sisters, Mrs. John Hickey and Mrs. William Scrimper, besides a number of nieces and nephews, survive her. The funeral was held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Rev. Father Loughnane, officiating. Interment in Oak Shade cemetery.
