Garold "Blackie" Engelhard 84, passed away at home on December 29, 2012. He was born January 15, 1928 in Bowdle, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius and Wilhelmina Engelhard and brother, Dr. Warren E. Engelhard.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette (Zick) Engelhard; six children, Rich (Leslie) Engelhard, Margaret Engelhard, Alan Engelhard, Kari (Joseph) Bush all of Tucson; Kelly (Mike) Canfield of Sierra Vista and Jody (Tom) McDaniel of Flagstaff; 11 grandchildren and two nieces and three nephews.
Visitation will be held at Evergreen Mortuary from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8650 N. Shannon Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Flowing Wells High School Alumni Association, 1556 W. Prince Road, Tucson, AZ 85705 in memory of Coach "Blackie" Engelhard.
