DONALD E. LEAS
CANTON – Donald E. Leas, Sr., 71 of 2423 Clyde Place S.W., Canton, died Thursday morning at Aultman Hospital following a long illness.

Born Jan 31, 1912, near Warsaw, he was a son of the late Willard Edgar and Naomi Norris Leas.

He was a retired employee of the Babcock and Wilcox Co. He moved to the Canton area in 1935. He was of Methodist faith.

He was married to Janie E. Leas. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James (Pat) Wills of here, and Mavis Moll of Crystal Springs; a son Donald E. Leas, Jr. of here; a brother, Clyde Leas of Wooster; three sisters, Mrs. Allen (Ruby) Fox of Ashland, Mrs. Clarice Lonsinger of Nashport and Mrs. Alice Stapleton of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service is 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Reed Funeral Home here, with the Rev. Terry C. Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Burial Park, here.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
