Rhonda "Vickie" Tucker

SHERMAN - Vickie was born July 13, 1966 at West Plains, Missouri to Ronald and Ella (Erely) Bates and passed from this life on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the young age of 46.

Vickie grew up at West Plains and is a graduate of Palestine High School in Palestine. She worked for Quickway Food Group in Sulphur Springs, and later pursued and received her cosmetology license in Oklahoma. Vickie married Darrell Tucker on December 16, 1994 in Sherman. She previously was employed by Douglas Distributing as a clerk at the convenience stores. Vickie enjoyed riding on the back of Darrell's motorcycle and watching television. Vickie's greatest joy was going to her kids games and spending quality time with all her family.

Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Bates in 2011 and stepdad, B.J. Dollar.

She is survived by her loving family, husband, Darrell of Sherman; son, Stephen Bates and his companion, Dorothy Breeden of Achille, Okla.; daughter, Sarah Tucker of Sherman; sons, Matthew Tucker and Zacharias Tucker both of Sherman; step-daughters, Angela Weaver and husband, Charles of Sherman, and Janeen Mason and husband, Chad of Tom Bean; grandchildren, Riley Bates, Jewel Mason, Shelby Mason and Elizabeth Mason, mother Ella Dollar of Achille, Okla., parents-in-law Jim and Ruby Tucker of Sherman; brother-in-law, Jim Tucker Jr. of Butler, Pa.; and sister-in-law Teresa Burbige and husband Paul of Sherman.

A Celebration of Vickie's life will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 31, in Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with George Fergueson officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery with the Texoma Hog Chapter serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at Waldo Funeral Home.

Vickie's family asks that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association P. O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312.
